They may juggle jobs, family, and school during the week, but when Friday night rolls around, some stressed-out Washingtonians drop everything – and juggle beanbags, knives and clubs instead. These juggling enthusiasts are among the hobbyists, performers and athletes featured in It’s a Juggling Act!
The film captures the immense popularity of juggling among people of all ages, from those who gather at a local juggling club and juggling convention, to professional performers, to a marathoner who juggles while he runs. It’s a Juggling Act! celebrates the beauty and joy of this ancient art, described by one juggler as “a sculpture that exists as long as you keep your hands moving.”
Reviews
“In its quiet and unpretentious way, this could be my favorite juggling video of all time… I wish every closet juggler in the world could see it.”
-Eric Bagai, Juggle Magazine
“I showed your film to all of my classes. They’re a tough audience – inner-city school students not inclined to sit still and pay attention to anything…but they were fascinated and watched the whole film. When a filmmaker can get the attention of these kids, keep it for 20 minutes and motivate them to do something, you know they’ve made a great film!”
